Dream Wingz goes from home business to popular Sango wing shop

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Dream Wingz, a new chicken restaurant on Madison Street, is creating some buzz while bringing new late night options to Sango.

Located at 2400 Madison St., Suite 10, Dream Wingz serves chicken wings, fried fish, sandwiches, fresh cookies and more. They offer to-go orders as well as delivery.

Matthew Burns started his business at home after realizing the COVID-19 pandemic had led to fewer late-night food options.

“I drove around at night, and the only thing open at the time was the McDonald’s at Wilma Rudolph. I knew that people still wanted to eat but couldn’t get the food, so I decided that it would be good to start selling wings,” Burns said.

He started taking orders and hired a delivery driver to take orders as late as 3 a.m. It wasn’t long before Dream Wingz needed to find a larger home.

Dream Wingz has quickly picked up popularity with locals, and recently received an online shout-out from D.C. Young Fly on “Wild ‘N Out” and “Grownish.”

“I appreciate everybody out there that’s supported us. We started from home, and to get to a building required the support of the majority of Clarksville,” Burns said.

He said one of the best things about his business is the cookies, which are baked fresh all day.

Currently, Dream Wingz is to-go and delivery only, though Burns hopes to add a dining room post COVID so that customers can hang out and watch pay-per-view events together.

Dream Wingz accepts orders through their website but plans to be active on ride share apps like Doordash and GrubHub soon.

For those feeding a group, Dream Wingz has party platters, including the Isaac Hayes special, which includes 100 wings, four orders of fries, 10 rolls, dressing and two 2-liter drinks.

Burns’ said he recommends his personal favorite sauce, the Memphis sweet BBQ.
