Three Clarksville-Montgomery County School System teachers have been selected as finalists for the 2021 District Teacher of the Year. One of the three educators will be determined through a random selection as the Grand Prize winner during a red carpet event presented by James Corlew Chevrolet on Thursday, Feb. 18.
The annual event hosted by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation (CMCEF) will be virtual this year, with a live stream available via the Foundation’s social media platforms.
Over 60 teachers from across the district were nominated for this year’s award.
All three finalists will win a prize through a random drawing during the event. The two runners-up will each win a $500 Amazon gift card, courtesy of CMCEF. The grand prize winner will receive a brand new Chevrolet Spark, courtesy of James Corlew Chevrolet.
This is the third year James Corlew has donated a car to Teacher of the Year.
The three finalists are Jessica Drudy, a high school English teacher at Montgomery Central High School, Christina Ploeckelman, a 7th-grade virtual math teacher at Richview Middle School, and Victoria McAlman, a 3rd-grade teacher at Burt Elementary.
“We are proud to support the school system throughout the year. Teacher of the Year is always a highlight because it is such an honor to recognize the hard work and dedication of our educators publicly,” said Robin Burton, Executive Director of the Education Foundation. “We are grateful to James Corlew Chevrolet for sponsoring the event again this year and value their partnership with the Foundation."
